23 Right-Brain Left-Brain

I hope, with your help, to complete the story of Hummy and BillyG by the end of the summer. This story is a lame but earnest effort to draw family, friends, and accidental readers into participation in the story. When you go to the blog you can start with the first session and work your way through the story, so far. We have completed 22 episodes with a goal of 30 plus.
This is story about humans as seen by animals who are living on the Caribbean island of Dominica. There are several themes running throughout the story; but all-in-all I hope to leave behind a carpet of dialogue so that the several dozen sons, daughter, daughters-in-laws, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, treasured friends and fellow travelers who, I trust, will weave the story into the future.
A few experts predict that loving right-brained people will come into prominence within your lifetime. By right-brained I mean those who are care-givers, artists, teachers, healers, nurturers, people-pleasers, emotive folks, and often misunderstood souls who find themselves in a planet run by bankers, politicians, generals, and rule-driven bureaucrats who demand obedience while smacking you with scorn and small-change. You know the scene and the drill. If you don’t see yourself in this scenario I credit you with a clever disguise. You may find yourself saddled with a balanced brain and that is a complex problem but also a treasure. I do not mean to forget the left brained who give us double yellow lines in our roads, jails for our unruly right brains, and 35 dollar overdraft fees to spank our little right brained hands.
So, over time, I hope you will contribute by offering recipes, edits, more stories, poems, drawings, critiques, jabs, jokes, philosophy, and most of all your heart-stuff for our woven and threaded future.
The story is incomplete, but so far, a bunch of animals are forming a group in a cave on the Caribbean island of Dominica to help humans save our planet from self-destruction.
Should you not feel a strong kinship with each other, fear not,
Mom Nature has scattered you like seeds in the wind and even given you divergent personalities so that 1000 years from now your genes, memories, and quirky traits will have survived even as monuments and scrapbooks have disappeared. In all probability many people do not recognize whether they are right brained or left brained, but if you’re very empathetic you’re very right brained and if you’re very survival of the fittest type you are probably left brained.
We began the story with a glimpse of invincible incompatibility which suggests that most folks marry because of instinct and then, hopefully, become friends down the road.
Then the story is taken over mysteriously by the animals who possess an awareness that humans, in a semi-conscious way, yearn for. Why else would humans be pet-maniacs? This animal awareness is a natural evolutionary process. However, humans were catapulted out of serene and stable evolution thousands of years ago. Humans, have since, been tripping over their own enormous brains by way of unrestrained growth, ridiculous wars, greed, and power-mad leadership. The consequent resentments, which have lodged awkwardly in the losers, have created an impasse.  This impasse appears to fragment human behavior so much so that humans are unaware of the fragility of their own planet.  The author hopes to kindle a critical awareness that humans have left behind.
